Gruss type color litho with views of Zanzibar, Sultan, and Dar-es-salaam. Postally used from Zanzibar July 19th 1897 to Landsberg Germany with arrival cd Aug-25-1897. One of two known picture postcards of Zanzibar postally used from Zanzibar in 1897. All other known cards are postally used from Zanzibar in 1898. WZAN230     gruss type - color litho with views of Zanzibar and Dar-es-salaam. Postally used from Dar-es-salaam Mar-3-1901 via Durban, Natal on Mar-25-1901 to Germany. This is the oldest known picture postcard illustration of Zanzibar. WZAN214

Gruss type - b/w litho with three views of local huts, streets and banana market. Postally used from Zanzibar 5-July-1898 to Germany with arrival cancel of 25-7-1898. Nice franking with a pair of 1/2 Anna with legible postmark of 5-JY-1898.
