Each item is indicated with
at least one enlarged picture (front), if used, then the front and back are shown. In
most instances this clearly identifies the overall condition of the postcard.
Faults not visible are indicated in the description. In contrast to many dealers who provide
their own rating system in determining the condition of a postcard, we find it
in most instances to be somewhat not applicable. Many price postcards according to
their condition regardless weather they are new or used.
We believe this really should only apply to
unused and not postally used postcards. With the advancement of new technologies, it
has become quite simple to reproduce postcards, and in some instances the
differences are unnoticeable. A stamped postmarked postcard, in addition to a
dated written message by the sender is the greatest evidence in determining its
authenticity with the period it was produced, and the price cannot fully be determined by the
condition. Postally used postcards may also have unusual postmarks or cancels from specific
regions only made during a certain period of time, making them highly scarce. Postally used postcards cannot be in mint condition, how can they? Due to the
scarcity, we do not have multiple copies of any
postcard. |
